Austrian Rope Retreat I

A unique*horny and Kinbaku Studio Vienna collaboration

From September 17th to 21st, 2026, we invite you to a secluded place in the Austrian countryside to spend a few days filled with rope and community.

WHAT TO EXPECT
The main program will feature workshops taught by international rope educators, complemented by optional community-led activities and discussions.

The venue offers:

– two large workshop rooms
– a smaller tying room with a sturdy wooden frame
– a smaller public playroom without suspension points
– a library that is perfect for conversations and discussion rounds
– dining and social rooms to talk, relax, or play games together

If the weather is kind, there is also plenty of outdoor space, including an outdoor sauna and a natural swimming pond to cool off and enjoy the last warm days of the year.

 

PRACTICALITIES
The event will begin on Thursday afternoon and end on Monday before noon, with the main workshop program taking place from Friday to Sunday.
Accommodation and meals will be provided on site, so once you arrive, everything you need will be taken care of.
You’ll stay in comfortable single and double rooms, with a few three- or four-bed rooms available for those who need a bit more space, whether for their polycule or a close group of friends.
Each room has its own bathroom, and both towels and bedsheets are provided.

The price per person is 680€, including food, accommodations, and the full workshop program.

The location is a quiet venue in the Austrian countryside, about an hour away from Vienna (and Graz), offering everything we need for a comfortable and inspiring time together.

 

PARTICIPATION AND TICKET ALLOCATION

Applications will open at 07:00 AM on December 1st, 2025, and will close at 11:00 PM on January 11th, 2026.

The second round of applications will be from April 12th 2026 07:00 AM to May 20th 2026 11:00 PM.

This first edition will be an application-only event for two reasons.
– First, we want to avoid a first-come, first-served rush.
– Second, we want to ensure that everyone who joins already has some experience with public rope events and the community atmosphere that comes with them.

To keep things balanced, tickets will be allocated in three groups:
– We will first consider people from our local and Austrian rope communities.
– After that, we will include international people we already know from other festivals and workshops.
– Finally, the remaining round will include applicants we have not met yet.

If more people apply than we have space for, we will use a lottery system within each round. This helps us keep the event manageable and enjoyable for everyone.
